The Pheasant Hill Community Gardens are located on the grounds of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Monona, WI.
Our organic garden plots are available to the community (no church membership or affiliation required) on a first-come, first-served basis, with minimal fees based on household income.
Interested in registering for a plot? Send us an email by clicking here.
The garden consists of 18 numbered plots, roughly measured to 10×10 parcels, allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Priority in plot selection is given to returning gardeners in good standing.
No non-organic fertilizers, additives, pest- or weed-control methods are allowed.
Plots are allocated by the Garden Support Team; please send a message to firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in a plot for the current growing season.
2020 Growing Season Information
Gardeners are expected to maintain their own plot(s) throughout the growing season, as well as to contribute to the general maintenance and upkeep of the garden as a whole. A minimum commitment of 3 hours per month, for each garden plot is required, and attendance at monthly communal work days is required to be considered “in good standing.”
Registration for Garden Plots begins on March 1 and continues until all plots are registered.
Once you have completed your registration (including paying plot fees), you may begin working your plot as early as the weather allows.
The garden officially opens on April 25 at 9:00, with a required work day and meet and greet for all registered gardeners.
